Why is "percent fill" important?

A higher percent fill means that your system is placing more toner on the page, therefore lowering the expected yield of your toner cartridge. When a manufacturer quotes a certain yield from a toner cartridge, that is, at best, with only 6% of the page covered with toner. More realistically is 10% to 12% or higher. This results in a much higher cost per page than their customers anticipate.
